serve 4.02 administration, supporting ICE.TCP and MS Office on Pcs with 4mb of Ram only (with some exceptions) ! I was also investigating Novell 4.1 and the DS Standard NDS 3.1x to 4.1 migration technique. Customer facing skills used in additition to technical and administration Novell skills. I have installed a Lotus Notes training server and a Lotus Notes remote client as well as a Novell 4.1 training server.

BT Research Laboratories February to August 95

I built and configured a 16GB file server from parts, configured the RAID 5 disk array and set it up as a NETWARE/IP server. I was involved in NOVELL 4.1 migrations, have installed NETWARE/IP network client software over a wide range of machines and been involved in all aspects of the DNS and DSS configurations including standardization on ETHERNET II frame protocols and ensuring connections to MS MAIL. Several NetWare IP print server configurations have been installed, and I have had opportunity to work with PCNFS client configurations including configuring printer access. I have experience of setting up "dual-stack" client configurations using IPX and MS TCP with Windows for Workgroups for access to Novell and VMS hosts and some knowledge of PATHWORKS. I have installed LAN WORKPLACE FOR DOS, Novell's TCP/IP client software as part of one of their standard client installations in conjunction with Netscape Internet access configurations. I had further experience with CARDWARE PCMCIA plug and play configuration of portable Ethernet and Modem cards including support of directors and senior personnel. I have had good exposure to the PC HARDWARE here including COMPAQ and ZENITH machines, upgrading memory, hard disks, PCMCIA, video cards and drivers, BIOS upgrades, CD ROM upgrades.

Unix Administration and PC support: SAAB - EDS : Marlow Bucks : November 94 to January 95.

I had been training in Unix skills between contracts and then had the good fortune to be taken on by EDS at their Marlow site to assist with remote administration and Helpdesk servicing of Unix systems on their dealers' premises. I have also been assisting with PC support on MS Office software packages.
