Government Department B needed a secure connection to CJX network .. this needed to pass muster with the Government Acreditors ... This meant designing an E3/EAL4 Common Criteria implementation based on the hardware they had already acquired for the job …A set of Dell 250 Poweredge servers. The current certified build based around Checkpoint Firewall-1 was researched and a design for the build submitted. When I was on site I had to deal with hardware difficulties, which turned out to be from motherboard embedded network interfaces which were not on Checkpoint Compatibility list. This was a very rare occasion when the configuration was in fact sensitive to the nic components. Problem solved .. new nics installed and job complete |
